RAPIDES PARISH . . . Alexandria/Pineville CVB is thirty minutes north of Avoyelles. Visit http://www.louisinafromhere.com for a stop on Red River where cultural and family activities abound . Enjoy dance, theater, museums, music, history, ballgames or the Alexandria Zoological Park. See Kent Plantation House, c.1800, Alexandria Museum of Art, River Oaks Square Arts Center,Tree House Children's Museum, Arna Bontemps Museum,Southern Forest Heritage Museum or Pineville Old Town Hall Museum and Louisiana Maneuvers and Military Museum at Camp Beauregard. Fine restaurants and rounds of golf await you along with water sports on the Red River.

NATCHITOCHES PARISH . . . Natchitoches CVB located and hour and fifteen minutes north of Avoyelles Parish on I-49N. See www.Natchitoces.net to visit the oldest permanent settlement in The Louisiana Purchase Territory(1714) and home to the famous City of Lights festival at Christmas and the 600,000-acre Kisatchie National Forest.
